Lava came to us on loan from her breeder, Annette Dionne, meant to spend just one winter season running on our team. Instead, she became my heart dog—the one who connected with me in a way no other dog ever has. What started as a temporary arrangement turned into six unforgettable years together, along with several beautiful puppies she whelped during that time. Today, thanks to Annette, we’re lucky enough to share our home with part of her legacy, enjoying life with both her son and daughter by her side. Lava may have arrived as a guest, but she stayed as family.
